First Pick of Round 3 Bronco Selection

NFL DraftNFL DraftWith the #80 pick of the 2010 NFL Draft the Denver Broncos took Baylor, Center, J.D. Walton, yet another young offensive player selected by the team.  Scouts say Walton is explosive and has good quickness, and should really help out the interior of the Denver Broncos offensive line.  This is the fourth pick in a row that has come on the offensive side of the ball, and really shows the direction Coach Josh McDaniels plans to go with the team.  The Broncos have one more pick tonight, at #87, and it will be very interesting to see what they decide to do with that pick.

Denver Broncos Round 2 Selection

NFL DraftNFL DraftIn Round 2 of the 2010 NFL Draft the Denver Broncos have selected Utah, Offensive Guard, Zane Beadles, with the #45 pick.  He played left tackle at Utah last year, but most likely will move inside and play guard for the Broncos.  This pick is the third offensive player selected, out of three thus far, for the Broncos, and really shows their effort to rebuild their offense with Head Coach Josh McDaniels type of guys.

The Broncos have no more second round selections, but have the #80 and #87 in the third round later tonight, unless, of course, they decide to make yet another trade to move up.  Stay tuned.

Big Ben Benched by the NFL

RoethlisbergerRoethlisbergerThe actions, off the field, of Pittsburg Steelers Ben Roethlisberger, have resulted in the NFL suspending him for 6 games, which could be reduced to 4 games with good behavior.  This is a huge blow to the Steelers organization, and rumors are circling that the Steelers are in talks with teams to possibly trade the Pro-Bowl quarterback.  He is being punished for violating the personal conduct policy of the NFL, and the NFL is forcing him to get therapy before he can return to his team.  It is worth pointing out, however, that Roethlisberger was never charged in either of his sexual abuse allegations.

Jazz Take Game 2

WilliamsWilliamsThe Utah Jazz beat the Denver Nuggets 114-111 in a hard-fought, physical game, that showed the intensity of a NBA playoff game.  The Jazz were led by point guard Deron Williams who scored 33 points, dished out 14 assists and had his way the entire night in their offensive end.  Defense needed to be the focal point for the Nuggets in Game 2, for it was absent in Game 1, but again, it fell by the wayside.

AnthonyAnthonyIn the brightest of spotlights superstars raise to the occasion, and that is exactly what Carmelo Anthony did in the Game 1 of the Western Conference NBA Playoffs against the Utah Jazz, beating them 126-113.  He not only scored a personal playoff best 42 points, but did so shooting 18-for-25, which is 72% from the floor, and he weren't all lay-ups or dunks, for he was draining jump shots all over the court.

No-No for Jimenez

JimenezJimenezThe Colorado Rockies record book was inked with the name Ubaldo Jimenez on Saturday night after he became the first pitcher in team history to throw a no-hitter.  It wasn't easy for the Rockies' ace, but he worked through many innings, and as a grounder went to Clint Barmes at second and made it way into Todd Helton's glove for his 27th out, history was made.

A great accomplishment for a great teammate as one can see my his post-game interview, given to The Denver Post, "It's an unbelievable feeling, an honor to have teammates hugging you and admiring what we did," Jimenez said. "Every single guy was pulling for me. You could see it in their faces."

Marshall Trade Causes Yet Another Trade

Add Comment

Brandon MarshallBrandon MarshallThe trade of Brandon Marshall to the Miami Dolphins, has caused another move for a wide reciever.  The Dolphins now have a main passing catching threat in Marshall, so they traded Ted Ginn Jr. to the San Francisco 49er's for a fifth-round draft pick.  This has got to be a little disheartening for the Dolphins, for it was a mere three years ago that the Dolphins picked Ginn out of Ohio State with the ninth pick of the 2007 draft.  Obviously they would have wished he would have been more productive, but it was time to part ways.  The interesting part of this trade will be how Ginn complements wide reciever Michael Crabtree of the 49er's.

This is the first move due to the trade of Marshall, with many more, most likely, to come.
