Brandon MarshallBrandon MarshallBrandon Marshall is no longer a Denver Bronco.  Marshall signed his restricted free agent contract last nightwith the Broncos, which meant something was in the works, and there was something indeed.  The Broncos traded the receiver to the Miami Dolphins for the second-round draft picks of this year and the 2011 draft.  Bill Parcells runs the organization in Miami, and has had may interactions with troubled wide receivers, so Marshall should be a good fit there.

Final Round of the Masters

Phil MickelsonPhil MickelsonIt was Phil Mickelson's day today at the Masters.  He hit miraculous shots, got himself out of some tough spots, and played like a true champion.  He shot a final round -5, 67, which gave him a -16 total, for the win, and the green jacket.

This is Mickelson's third victory at Augusta National, and this one is extra special for the amount of hardship him and his family have had to endure.  Mickelson's mother and wife are both going through breast cancer treatment, and he's had to juggle a lot in both his personal and professional life.  The embrace with his wife, after making his birdie putt on 18, will go down as one of the most captivating moments in Masters' history.

Tiger WoodsTiger WoodsAnother round down, with 18 holes remaining.  Birdies and bogeys were the theme of Tiger Wood's third round, which ended in him shooting a -2, 70, for the second consecutive day.  It was a battle for him all day, and he talked about it in his press conference saying, "I was fighting it all day.  I really struggled with the pace of the greens, fighting my swing. It was a tough day. But it was nice, after struggling, to fight back into the ball game. At one point, I was seven back. To claw my way back to three. I’m in good shape.”

Kyle OrtonKyle OrtonDenver Broncos' quarterback Kyle Orton, last year's starter for the team, is happy to have a vote of confidence from Coach Josh McDaniels.  Sports Illustrated reports that, "Right after pulling off the trade (for Brady Quinn), McDaniels called Orton and told him that while he was bringing in some better competition, he wasn't going to throw the job up for grabs like he did last year when Orton beat out Chris Sims."

Marshall to the Seahawks?

Add Comment

Brandon MarshallBrandon MarshallA lot of discussion, by many NFL analysts and reporters, have Denver Broncos wide receiver, Brandon Marshall, possibly being traded to the Seattle Seahawks.  The receiver made a visit to Seattle once free-agency began, and it looks to be a possibility.

First, the relationship between the Broncos and Marshall, is strained, at best.  He was disciplined by the team many times last year for not cooperating and for actions detrimental to the team, so it seems like the Broncos won't be too disappointed to get rid of the player.

Good News for the Closer

The ColStreetStreetorado Rockies and closer, Huston Street, got some great news yesterday as an MRI on his shoulder came back with no structural damage. Some pain and inflamation still bother him, however, but that can be dealt with, and by no means will be longer than a surgery recovery.

According to the Denver Post Street said, "Good news, everything in the shoulder is structurally sound. Now it's just a matter of getting the shoulder back, getting some strength back and working through this as fast as we can," and said this about his return, "The thought is to work through the inflammation, build up some strength, build up some endurance."

Broncos Get Quinn: Good Decision?

Add Comment

QuinnQuinnQuarterback Brady Quinn will get his chance for a fresh start, and maybe even a a chance to start as he was traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Denver Broncos.  The former first-round draft pick was picked up relatively cheap, as the Broncos got Quinn, and the Browns got running back/fullback Peyton Hillis, a 2011 sixth round draft pick and a conditional pick in 2012, that most likely won't be in the higher rounds.

Quinn most likely will compete with incumbent starter, Kyle Orton, for the Broncos starting quarterback job, but it may take quite of bit of work for Quinn to unseat the veteran, who performed very well for the team this past year.  If Orton gets the nod, but doesn't play well, it'll be interesting to see how long Broncos coach Josh McDaniels waits to put Quinn in.
