The Nuggets defeated the Suns 109-92 on Tuesday in Denver. The win moves their record to 17-12 on the year while improving their home record to 8-7. Prior to the game, they were on a 5-game losing streak at home. They were able to break that streak thanks to a very good scoring performance by their offense. The team scored 25 or more points in each quarter until the fourth when they eased up a bit and began to run the clock out. If not for the poor performances at home lately, the team would really be in contention in the division.
The Nuggets were led by Arron Afflalo who scored 20 points in the contest. Andre Miller was also pivotal in the game as he led the team with 7 assists. The team scored early and took a 33-21 lead after the first quarter. Then after being outscored 30-25 in the second quarter came back to score more then the Suns in the third by a margin of 28-19. The team has still got some ground to make up in the division, but remains competitive and must use this home victory to propel them further.
The Suns were led by Markieff Morris who led all scorers in the game with 21. Marcin Gortat led the team in rebounds with 14 as Ronnie Price led the team in assists with 6. The team moved to 12-17 with the loss as their away record dropped to 7-10 on the season. They continue to be up and down with their play and need to find some consistency to ever dream about getting their record to .500.
