The madness of the 2010 NFL season is here, and that means training camp. The draft picks are signed. and Tim Tebow is on the field, so all eyes are on the quarterback position. Incumbent quarterback, Kyle Orton, will now have every throw analyzed and scrutinized, as many await the time Tebow gets to nod to take over the offense. That will be some incredible pressure for Orton, but he's been there before, is a professional, and should take it in stride.
The running back position at camp today gave fans the biggest scare as both Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter went down with injuries. Moreno's injury seemed at first that it may be a season-ending hamstring tear, but a MRI done today confirmed no tears, which is excellent news for Bronco nation, so he's only expected to miss three weeks. Buckhalter, on the other hand, was rushed to the hospital when he felt tingling in his arms and legs, but was cleared having suffered only an upper back pull, which should only have him out for a week.
The Broncos organization also came through for the defense by extending the contract of stand-out Elvis Dumervil to a five-year, $58.332 million deal. The NFL leader in sacks last season got his wish, and should be a great motivator for the team. If they work hard and play well the organization will reward them.
Training camp continues tomorrow as the Denver Broncos continue their quest with their goal set for the Lombardi Trophy.
