The Nuggets suffered their first loss at home all season on Monday after a 94-81 performance against the Hornets. The loss brings the Nuggets record to 6-4 this season and came after a poor shooting performance from the team. The turning point in the game came in the 2nd quarter when the Nuggets were outscored 28-19 by New Orleans. This carried into the third quarter where the Nuggets scored just 18 to the Hornets 24. From the field Denver simply was having no luck and ultimately fell way short.
Leading the way for the Nuggets was Gallinari who scored 15 in the game. Nene Hilario led the team in both assist and rebounds on the day. He ended with 11 rebounds and 4 assist. It was Nene's first game back with the team after suffering an injury. Until this game, Denver has shot well particularly at home where they were undefeated coming into the game. the best shot from the team came from a Tim Tebow clad mascot who shot a no-look over the head half court shot. if only the rest of the team could be so lucky on the day, the Nuggets may have won.
The Hornets were led by Carl Landry who scored 21 points on the day. He has proved to be the teams top performer and led all scorers in the game. Teammate Al-Farouq Aminu led the way with 8 rebounds for the Hornets while Jarret Jack fed Landry and company 9 assist. The win was just the third for the lifeless looking Hornets and was just their 2nd away victory on the year. They are currently 3-6 on the season and have the day off on Tuesday.
