The Col
orado Rockies and closer, Huston Street, got some great news yesterday as an MRI on his shoulder came back with no structural damage. Some pain and inflamation still bother him, however, but that can be dealt with, and by no means will be longer than a surgery recovery.
According to the Denver Post Street said, "Good news, everything in the shoulder is structurally sound. Now it's just a matter of getting the shoulder back, getting some strength back and working through this as fast as we can," and said this about his return, "The thought is to work through the inflammation, build up some strength, build up some endurance."
The Rockies open the regular season April 5 against the Milwaukee Brewers, and the team does not plan to rush Street back into the line-up at all, most likely starting him this season on the disabled list.
It's a minor set-back, but in the long run it is great news for the Rockies, Street and the fans, for it won't be too long before we see him getting saves at Coors Field.
