The Denver Nuggets lost 109-101 to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday in Denver. The Nuggets outscored the Warriors in all quarters except the third, which ended up being the difference in the contest. The loss for the Nuggets brings their overall record to 15-12 this season. Their home record is now an even .500 percent at 7-7. In the third, the team was outscored 37- 20. This proved enough to end them up on the losing side of things Thursday.
The Nuggets were led by Arron Afflalo who scored 26 points. Kenneth Farried led the team in rebounds with ten while Lawson added ten assists to lead all. The Nuggets outscored the Warriors 81-72 in all quarters minus the third. The loss was the 5th straight for the team as they move further out of contention. They are currently 5.5 back of the first place Oklahoma City Thunder. They are still in 2nd in the division, but with the losing streak are beginning to widen the gap.
The Warriors were led by Stephen Curry who had 36 points to lead all scorers. Curry also led the squad in assists with 7. The team scored 25 or more in each quarter except the second. Most impressive was the 37 points they put up in the third which ultimately got them the win. Currently they are in 4th place in the division. They currently stand 6 games back of the first place LA Clippers.
