Sports Illustrated columnist, Peter King, writes a column every Monday entitled "Monday Morning Quarterback," and Broncos quarterback, Tim Tebow made the #5 item in his "10 Thing I Think I Think" as he wrote,
"5. I think it's almost as absurd to think ill of Tim Tebow for passing on a couple of huge endorsements, which he has done since the draft. Tebow knows his job right now is to prepare to be a football player, and it isn't that taking a day or two out of his prep work or vacation will do significant damage to his career. But if teammates see his mug all over TV this summer and fall pushing two or three products as a big NFL star before he's ever arrived ... not a good idea. It's smart to lay low for now."
Tebow, thus far, is acting like a true professional, as King states, and one has to agree. He's making good decisions, and King brings up a great point: It would seem more than odd for a potentially third-string quarterback to have major endorsement deals, and it most likely gets him a lot of respect in the locker room.
Reports from Dove Valley, where the Broncos practice, indicated Tebow is taking snaps as the fourth quarterback, listening to his coaches and the other quarterbacks, and is really focused on learning the difficult playbook. The Denver Post reports that for much of practice, "Tebow stood several yards behind Orton or Quinn and mimicked what the other quarterback was doing, from taking the snap, to a five-step drop then the throwing motion," and quoted Tebow as saying, "The competition, for me, is learning the playbook and just competing to be the best I can be and not necessarily worrying about anything else. I can only worry about what I can control every day."
He may not see the field for a bit, but his actions are more than admirable, and is really showing that he is a class act.
