Pack your bags, Nuggets, and enjoy an early start to the offseason, for you deserve it. The Utah Jazz, without two starters, had way more heart and played as a team to win Game 6, and the series, 112-104. Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams dominated yet again, but it wasn't that difficult, as defense wasn't played by the Nuggets. Boozer went for 22 points and 20 rebounds, and Williams added another double-double, with 14 points and 10 assists.
The Nuggets played selfish, lacked defense, and lacked discipline. There were countless times down the floor where there wasn't one pass, just a couple dribbles and a long three. No one was moving their feet, playing team defense or showcasing any discipline, resulting in 39 personal fouls and 4 technical fouls that gave the Jazz an opportunity to score with 51 free throws. A team won't be able to win when they give their opponent that many opportunities on the foul line.
Game 6 was a great example for all the little kids around the country. Teams win basketball games, not individuals. Denver's talent far outweighs that of Utah, but Utah played better as a team, thus getting the victory and winning the series. Hopefully the Nuggets will be able to learn that lesson, and make a better showing, as a team, next year in the playoffs.
