What if Tim Tebow defeats Tom Brady and the Patriots? So far Tebow has done nothing but win games. Sure it’s not pretty, for at least 3 quarters, but for one magical quarter Tebow grabs everyone’s attention. In the fourth quarter a light comes on, a fire burns hot, and a divine intervention takes place during a period that that is now known as Tebow time.
So far, everyone has dismissed this all. Win after win after win, the same questions are asked. Is Tebow the Broncos quarterback next season? Can Tebow become a traditional quarterback? Does Tebow have what it takes to beat the, Chargers, Jets, or Bears? Well he has answered those questions and done so by putting together some of the most exciting fourth quarters of football many fans have ever seen.
The questions are still being asked though, and will continue to be. The only question that remains for me is will beating the Pats shut everyone up? After the game Sunday we may just find out, but that would require a win at Mile High. There, the first place AFC West Broncos at 8-5 will face the, still ever so powerful, 10-3 Patriots who are fighting for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. David versus Goliath some would say, but a look at recent history shows that the expression any given Sunday bears more weight in this matchup.
The game will come down to defense which has been solid for the Broncos lately while absent from the Patriots. New rookie Von Miller is back in lineup and playing great along with a big front line anchored by Dumervil. The defense is simply not giving up much, and has given up 14 or fewer points in 3 of the last 4 games. Certainly the Broncos will not hold the Patriots under 14, but Tebow will keep them in the game. Tebow will manage the clock well while limiting mistakes wand keeping the defense fresh. This will keep Brady off the field, which is the only way to beat the Patriots.
Prediction: Broncos 26 Patriots 24……….Hey, it could happen.
