Not a lot of wind and damp conditions made the TPC Sawgrass course easier than usual, resulting in a lot of scores in the first round of The Players Championship.  Two sit atop the leaderboard, and their names aren't Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson.  The twos that lead are J.B. Holmes and Robert Allenby, who both shot -6 under, 66's, to storm to the front.  Woods and Mickelson, meanwhile, sit in the middle of the pack after shooting -2 under, 70's. 

Both players are in striking distance after Thursday's round, but they'll have to fight tooth and claw, for the conditions on the course will only get harder as the weather seems to be getting better, and if the wind picks up it will be very hard to put up those numbers again.

Thursday's round is in the books, and early tomorrow morning the guys will head out to take on day 2 at the TPC Sawgrass.
