Ubaldo Jimenez Watch continues on, and with today's win he's reached 13 wins with the 5-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins. That improves his record to 13-1 and lowers his incredible ERA once again to 1.15. He struck out four Twins and only walked two in the matchup with fellow countryman, Francisco Liriano, who pitched well after giving up three runs to the Rockies in the first inning.
What a performance, again,'' Rockies manager Jim Tracy said through SI.com. " The mindset of this man and his awareness. This is not the first time that he faced a front-line guy from another ballclub and did exactly what he did today."
Minnesota Twin's manager, Ron Gardenhire also commented on the pitching duel, again through SI.com, " The story was the first inning when Frankie was misfiring. ... Once he calmed down after that he threw the ball great. Get behind like that early and it's tough when you got a pitcher throwing as well as Ubaldo out there."
The sky is the limit for the Rockies ace, and they'll need him to continue to dominate for the ballclub to stay in contention. Jimenez is hard to beat, faced a very tough Twin's team, but still came out the victor.
