Westwood Keeps Lead on Saturday
Westwood: Getty ImagesLee Westwood held onto the lead at The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass on Saturday, shooting a -2 under, 70. His total of -14 under puts him one stroke ahead of Robert Allenby, and two head of Ben Crane, Lucas Glover and Francesco Molinari.
Phil Mickelson fired a -6 under, 66, to inch closer to the top of the leaderboard, but still sits five shots behind the leader, Westwood. He, again, has his sights on the top spot, for if he is able to win the tourney, and Tiger Woods finishes outside of the top 5, then Phil will take over as the #1 ranked golfer in the world. Woods, however, is doing what he needs to do for Phil take over his #1 ranking by shooting a -1 under, 71, to leave him ten shots behind the leader, and currently sits in a tie for 45th place.
Will Phil be able to make a rush to the top of the leaderboard? Will Westwood be able to fend off the oppenents at his heels? Those questions will be answered on Sunday, in the final round of The Players Championship at the TPC Sawgrass.
